Word Wall Makeover!

So, we still have 2 weeks left of school and I am already revamping my classroom for next year. My co-teacher was teasing me the other day because I already have a bunch of stuff laminated and copied for back to school….It’s never too early to start getting ready for next year though, right??
Exhibit A: My new rainbow polka dot word wall.

I am going for a rainbow theme next year for my classroom, and this was step 1. I just love me some polka dots, and the detail with the frames. Whaddya think? If you REALLY like them and want to snag them for your classroom, you can get them here.

So, are you OCD too and already prepping for next year with your current class still going strong? Please tell me I’m not alone! πŸ™‚

  • I did the same thing! No fear! I went ahead and bought a new job chart, border, everything, and had it all laminated! I might even have my copies for the first 3 days done… but I'm not telling πŸ˜‰

    • Haha! I feel better now that I know I'm not alone πŸ™‚ Thanks Jennifer!

    • Thanks Alyssha! I know, its pretty amazing. Our school is SOOO old. My classroom has all original hardwood floors, with those built in wooden cupboards and drawers. It has "church pews" (as I call them) built in to the walls around the room, and also the wooden mantle of a fireplace! Its been covered for a long time now, but its so neat to think that at one time they must have lit fires in there. The word wall is over cupboards that have glass doors.

    • Thanks Bridget! I love the drawers. I have drawers for our extra supplies– folders, glue, crayons, markers, and then most of the others have craft materials– ribbon, glitter, buttons, felt, etc.

  • I came across your picture while looking for pics of old cabinets. I actually teach third grade, but I love old things. What a beautiful treat to have in your classroom. I love what you have done with it. It is so nice that some of the old was able to be preserved in your classroom.
