Our Time to Teach!

I have been such a bad blogger lately! With all the end of year craziness, along with a 2 year old that decided she's becoming nocturnal, I haven't had a lot of down time lately. I've been a part of a few giveaways in the past few weeks and didn't even get on to blog about them. Forgive? :)

We are into our last full 2 weeks of school and I have SO much to do still! We are finishing our non-fiction books, need to work on Father's Day, Flag day stuff, and of course, lots of assessment business. I am determined to reorganize too and need to do that before my room gets taken over for summer school. Yikes! Can we please add like 10 hours to the day please?

So, anyway-- the point of this post! Last year, one of my awesome colleagues shared an end-of-year tradition that she had been doing with her class for quite some time. It was called "Time to Teach" and it was kind of like an interactive "Show and Tell"... the kids each got bring in materials to teach the class something.
Here are a few pics of the fun we've been having so far.

They were asked to list the steps, bring in any materials they need, and practice presenting their lesson a few times at home before the real thing in front of the class. The kids are having a blast with it this year! Some of the fun ideas we've had this year include: directed drawings, making a beaded bracelet, blowing bubbles, how to do a backbend (no I didn't attempt this one, afraid I wouldn't be able to get back up), how to count in spanish, making noodle necklaces, super hero masks...and some new goodies to come this week!
